Civil Engineering Technician Job Description:

1. The person should be able to prepare complex design drawings from engineering sketches and/or oral instructions.
2. The candidate should be able to deal directly with customers, contractors and development engineers with regard to new water system requirements and/or construction.
3. Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
4. Conduct materials test and analysis, using tools and equipment, and applying engineering knowledge.
5. Prepare and train others in the use of computer spreadsheets, databases, presentation graphics, and other software programs.
6. Should have at least 7-8 years of experience as a Civil engineering technician.
