Sample Nurse Anesthetist Job Description:

1. Should be ready to assist patients in crisis and schedule medical/surgical situations.
2. Should be able to administer anesthesia to render patients insensible to pain during surgical, obstetrical and other medical procedures.
3. Should instruct medical students/new nurses in characteristics and methods of administration of anesthetics, signs and symptoms of reactions and complications.
4. Should examine patients to determine degree of surgical risk and type of anesthetic and sedation to administer.
5. Should have at least 4-5 years of experience as a Nurse Anesthetist.
